When we first saw the e-Tron in production form last September in San Francisco, Audi discussed its strategy for this new model. Rather than the size limited third row seat of the Tesla, Audi has opted to go with a two row layout that offers ample legroom for those in the back. Rather than taking direct aim at Tesla, Audi has crafted its first production EV to be a car to appeal to Audi customers both in looks and the way it drives. As the first of what are planned to be many battery electric Audis, this one wears the e-Tron badge much like the original Quattro coupe of the early-1980s. The octagonal Audi grille is mostly blanked off with some vertical bars that will signify electric drive.
