MIRI: Some 200 workers at a factory in Samalaju Industrial Estate in northern Sarawak were left homeless after a fire destroyed six blocks of their housing quarters. Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control in the incident at about 8pm in Thursday (Feb 22), saving the other blocks where another 100 workers are living in. The Samalaju and Bintulu fire stations deployed firefighters to the site located about 100km from Bintulu town. The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department in its report said there were no fatalities or serious injuries from the fire, the cause of which is being investigated.
