KUALA LUMPUR: Police will soon install auto-tracking High Definition (HD) closed-circuit television (CCTV) system in 200 “hotspots” nationwide to digitalise their assets and operations. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi Zahid said this was among several other measures to carry out “modern policing”, to be fully implemented within the next two years. "The current CCTV system we use does not track criminals but with the improved system, they can be caught within 15 hours. Present were Second International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan and Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman. Mimos and Huawei last month signed an MoU to identify opportunities related to regional public safety and smart city projects.
