20-year-old bogus dentist fined RM70,000 for providing unlicensed service


MELAKA: A bogus dentist was fined RM70,000 by the Sessions Court for running an unlicensed dental service here eight months ago. Judge Norma Ismail meted out the sentence against Nur Farahanis Ezatty Adli, 20, after she changed her plea to guilty. Nur Farahanis was charged with running a private dental clinic without registering it under Section 27 of the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998. The offence carries a maximum fine of RM300,000 or maximum jail of six years or both, upon conviction. Norma then fined her RM70,000 or six months' jail.
