Records there show 500 registered migrant workers have undergone health checks. "This means about 20 per cent of the migrant workers [who underwent these health checks] have carried this communicable disease," the committee's chairman Singsuk Singpai said yesterday. The National Legislative Assembly's committee on commerce, industries and labour discovered the disturbing news while inspecting the centre. But only 500 appear to have undergone health checks.In response to government policy, onestop service centres have sprung into operation across the country to register Myanmar, Laotian and Cambodian workers.Registrations started on April 1 and end on July 29.
