2 suspected drug traders killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘gunfight’

Sabbir Hossain, 25, son of Md Ibrahim Sheikh of Bagerhat district; and Hafizur Rahman, 35, son of Md Abdul Matin of Savar, were killed in the "gunfight" early on Tuesday. RAB 7 Cox’s Bazar Company Commander Major Mehedi Hassain said they had motioned a covered van to stop at one of their check posts in the area, around 2:30am. He said the alleged drug traders opened fire on the RAB team, prompting them to return fire. Moreover, the elite force’s team also recovered 40,000 yaba pills and two firearms.
