SAN PEDRO CITY — Two men suspected of pushing illegal drugs were killed in a buy-bust in San Pablo City in Laguna province on Saturday afternoon. Eleazar Matta, in a text message, said the city police’s anti-drug unit conducted the buy-bust in Barangay (village) Santiago 2 at 1:20 p.m. against suspects Miguelito Manalo and Pastor Barcenas. ADVERTISEMENTBut the suspects opened fire in an attempt to flee, forcing the policemen to shoot them down. The police recovered from Manalo a caliber .38 gun while from Barcenas a .45 caliber pistol. On Friday evening, suspected drug syndicate member Gilbert Flores was also killed in a shootout in San Pablo City.
