Police are on the manhunt for the suspects of the grenade attack, and has already managed to apprehend 5 suspects on another grenade attack that occurred in the city early this month, said Walelign Dagnew, Head of Bahir Dar city Police Department. Four other suspects who are suspected of planning bomb attacks in the city have also been apprehended, according to Bahir Dar Police Department. The spate of grenade attacks comes in the tense first anniversary of clashes between Ethiopian security forces and protesters that left several people dead. On August 7, 2016 protesters from the Amhara ethnic group amassed in the streets of Bahir Dar.
