The main accused, 25-year-old Harpreet, was later found to have been involved in 12 cases of snatching and auto lifting. The other accused was identified as 22-year-old Gurpreet Singh. According to the police, the two were overpowered and apprehended after a brief chase when they were in a stolen vehicle. They also reportedly attempted to run over a police personnel who spotted them near the Janakpuri east metro station.
