A nor’wester storm was blowing over Memania union of Hizla upazila around 8:30am on WednesdayTwo people died when a trawler capsized in the Meghna River during stormy weather in Hizla upazila of Barisal on Wednesday morning. The deceased were identified as Abdur Rob Bepari, 55, a grocery trader and Rajib Bhuiya, 15, a ninth-grader of Gobindapur village. Asim Kumar Shikdar, officer-in-charge of Hizla police station, confirming the matter, said nor’wester storm was blowing over Memania union of Hizla upazila around 8:30am on Wednesday. “The passenger trawler carrying 14 passengers and goods from Gobindapur to Shaora, fell victim to the storm and capsized mid-river. Ajmal Huda Mithu, deputy director of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority, said the trawler was plying on the river without any route permit.
