The first incident took place around 9am when an elderly man was crushed under the wheels of a train. The other deceased has been identified as Arafat Hossain, 40, a resident of Uttara, Dhaka. He was crushed by a train travelling to Mymensingh from Dhaka—the Mohua Commuter Train—around 9:30am near the same area. Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Dhaka Railway Police Airport station in charge Sub-Inspector Nazrul Islam said: "Two people have died in two separate incidents, although both of them happened near the Joar Shahara rail crossing area.
