At least one man and a young child have been killed, in separate incidents of mud walls collapsing in Kushtia and Gazipur districts. A man in Kushtia’s Mirpur upazila was crushed to death after a mud wall of his house collapsed on him on Saturday morning. The mud walls of the house were weakened due to the incessant rainfall over the last two days, the UP chairman added. Meanwhile, in Gazipur, a two-year-old boy died when a mud house collapsed in the early hours of Saturday. The child, Jahid, was sleeping along with his mother and aunt at his grandfather’s house in the Pubail area under Gazipur City Corporation, when the mud wall of an abandoned house adjacent to their building crushed their house around 3am.
