Two police officers — one still active and the other retired — were among three drug suspects arrested at Barangay Socorro inQuezon City shortly before Sunday midnight. PO2 Joseph Soriano, 44, and retired SPO1 Eduardo Valle, 53, together with their accomplice, 32-year-old Don Jacky Cortez, yielded 19 sachets of “shabu” (crystal meth) during a buy-bust operation. According to a report from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Cortez and Soriano were on a target list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. Valle, on the other hand, became a policeman in 1987 and served for over two decades until his retirement in 2009. According to his records, he was last assigned to the Batasan station of the QCPD.
