The presiding officer was detained from a polling centre for his alleged involvement in vote riggingTwo rebel Awami League Upazila Parishad (UP) chairman candidates of Daulatpur Upazila in Manikganj, Abdul Kader and Aminur Rahman, have boycotted the third phase of UP polls alleging vote rigging. After the alleged vote rigging on Sunday, a presiding officer was detained from a polling centre in the upazila for his alleged involvement. Police detained Presiding Officer Ruhul Amin, also assistant teacher at the Khord Chhatiyan Government Primary School, from Jionpur Khapara Government Primary School polling centre around 9:30am, confirmed District Commissioner SM Ferdous. Later, the voting started around 10:20am, said the centre's Presiding Officer Abu Bakar Siddique. A total of 11,887,751 voters will be able to exercise their voting rights at 9,298 polling stations in these polls.
