Two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at Chinook Centre mall in Calgary. Businesses and staff at the mall were notified of the positive cases on Friday in a letter from mall management. "We strongly urge all clients to follow this example and immediately notify both CF and AHS in the event that any employee, contractor or guest at CF Chinook Centre is confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19." A spokesperson for Cadillac Fairview, which owns the mall, confirmed in an emailed statement that there were two confirmed cases in the stores' premises, but did not specify if the cases were among shoppers or employees. A spokesperson at Alberta Health said an outbreak at a facility like a mall is declared if there's evidence of linked transmission of five or more COVID-19 cases with a common exposure.
