MELAKA: Enforcement officers from the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry yesterday raided a vehicle warehouse and seized two bullet tankers containing 6,000kg of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) worth RM19,800 here. “Based on reports from our two-month stake-out, we suspect that the modus operandi used by operators was to transfer a portion of industrial LPG from bullet tankers delivering the gas to other bullet tankers kept in the warehouse. “Checks also found six bullet tankers that were detached from the lorry cabs, two of which contained 2,000kg and 4,000kg of LPG. “We believe that they obtained LPG supplies locally to be resold at the Melaka market,” he told a press conference. Under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 alone, the value of items seized (LPG, diesel, sugar, cooking oil and flour) was RM137,396 compared to last year’s RM90,280.96.
