According to the civil surgeon's office, total five expatriates, hailing from Chittagong, returned from South Africa recently. Chittagong Civil Surgeon Md Elias Chowdhury said the expatriates returned to the country from South Africa on November 17. Additional precautions are being taken to prevent the spread of new variant of coronavirus Omicron which has been identified in South Africa. Meanwhile in Brahmanbaria, authorities hanged red flags outside the houses of seven South Africa returnees on Tuesday.
