15 hours agoTwo survivors from an attack on a Quarry in Mandera county Thursday evening, have been airlifted to Nairobi. 4 other workers were killed in the 5.30 pm attack by suspected Alshabaab militants. The two survivors, who were in a bigger group of quarry workers rescued by a combined multi agency team of the National Police Service and Kenya Defence Forces, were received at Wilson airport Friday evening and taken to the Kenyatta National Hospital for further treatment.The terrorist attack in Shimbir Fatuma ward which is 65 kilometres from the Kenya-Somalia border, is the first in three years since al shabaab militants attacked a quarry inside Kenya.
