Two members of the Canadian Armed Forces aboard a flight that stopped at a military base in Happy-Valley Goose Bay, N.L., have tested positive for COVID-19. The two members who tested positive were aboard an aircraft bringing 35 Canadian Air Force personnel back to Canada as part of Operation Impact, which includes up to 850 Canadians deployed in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Kuwait. Those who tested positive are currently in isolation at a base in Trenton, Ont. The base has been in contact with public health authorities, and contact tracing has begun. Perry Trimper, a member of the House of Assembly who represents Lake Melville, which includes Happy Valley-Goose Bay, said he became aware of the news on Friday and reported it to public health officials.
