A total of 2000 farmers in Bauchi state have been selected to benefit from the crop demonstration packages for local farmers package to enable them to cultivate a quarter of a hectare of either improved maize, rice, soybean and millet. The disclosure was made by the State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Sunday while flagging off the 2021 Crop Demonstration Packages aimed at improved production of crops for for food security. He also said that 2000 livestock farmers will benefit from the newly introduced Napier Grass cuttings, while twenty communities will benefit from the local poultry upgrading using nuiler cocks. According to him, ninety communities will benefit from the small ruminant breeding program packages which include, seeds, fertilizer, herbicides, insecticides, noiler cocks, napier grass cuttings among others.
