Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the City of Toronto. About 2,000 customers are without power due to a tree that fell from severe wind. The warning was issued at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday and is also in effect for Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Markham. Areas that are affected are St. Clair to Eglinton, between DVP and Warden, says Tori Gass, spokesperson for Toronto Hydro. According to the weather agency, meteorologists are warning Torontonians of a "thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, pea to dime size hail and heavy rain."
