Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly – File PhotoCAIRO - 27 August 2018: The first phase of a "New Alamain Walk" project has been implemented, said Housing Minister Moustafa Madbouli Monday.Bicycle lanes, pergolas and seats, as well as lamp posts are already there, Madbouli said in a statement.Work is underway to plant palm trees, enhance shorelines and establish WC and change rooms, the minister said.If everything works according to plan, an artificial lake should also be dug to serve as a reservoir of desalinated water needed for agriculture, he added.Worth 1.6 billion pounds, the first phase of a project to implement a branch of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in New Alamain City should be operational by September 2019, Madbouli said.A national university in Alamain should also be implemented over an area of 130 feddans at a total cost of LE 1.5 billion, he added.
