The approved business plans represent 41% of 462 proposals submitted to the government after it reached out publicly to private investors. A satisfied Trade and Industry Minister said private sector interest in the industrialization plan has been "very significant", stating the "1D,1F, is very much on track"He said the commercially viable plans will cover 102 out of the 216 districts in the country. But he said the government would not shy away from taking the lead in establishing projects in districts where no private player has submitted a commercially viable plan. But essentially, the one district, one factory initiative is not designed to be state enterprises, Alan Kyerematen who was also Trade Minister under the former NPP government said.
