KAJANG: Some 19 youths, exploited as beggars, were rescued in a late night raid at an apartment in Bandar Mahkota Cheras. The victims, aged between 17 and 28, were believed to have been kept by a human trafficking syndicate and forced to beg around the Klang Valley. “Initial investigations revealed that the rescued youths fell victim to a human trafficking syndicate that exploits teenagers and children to collect donations from people living in Kajang. “We believe the rescued victims were duped into collecting donations on behalf of the syndicate,” he said in a statement on Tuesday. “We urge anyone with information on the case to step forward to help in investigations,” he said.
