$170,000 from Christchurch scam ends up in Perth

In 2015 Perth-based warehouse supervisor Kris McNicholl received a windfall of $170,000 from his dad in Christchurch. The fictitious scheme appeared to earn sensational profits but these were derived from funds invested in the scam. The $170,000 also came from investor funds and now the liquidators of the company at the centre of the scam want it back. He works as a 'fly-in, fly-out" mining warehouse supervisor in a remote part of Western Australia. GEORGE HEARD/STUFF Lance Ryan (left) and Jimmie McNicholl were been sentenced in the Christchurch District Court last year.
