Seventeen suspected militants have been detained from different areas of Chittagong city. The identities of the detainees could not be ascertained as yet. Chittagong Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (West) Nazmul Hossain confirmed the news of the detention to the Dhaka Tribune. “We conducted a drive and detained them from different areas Saturday night,” said Nazmul, adding “They are at the first stage of being radicalised. Most of them were members of Islami Chhatra Shibir.”Further will be disclosed at a press briefing later in the day, he added.
