Police officers seized HK$1 million worth of illegal drugs during a drug trafficking bust at a suspected drug transit centre in Tsuen Wan, arresting a 16-year-old male. The police stopped and searched the teen outside of an apartment at Chung On Building on Sha Tsui Road, and found 267 grams of suspected ice, 64 grams of suspected ketamine, 6 grams of cocaine and 14 grams of synthetic drug nicknamed “happy water”. Officers then proceeded to search the apartment and further discovered 612 grams of ketamine, 540 grams of ice, 36 grams of “happy water”, 50 ecstasy pills, 250 tablets of erimin, two electric scales and a bunch of packing tools. The police believed that the drugs were to supply entertainment venues in the West Kowloon district, and more likely to be arrested. According to the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, any person who traffic in a dangerous drug is liable to a fine of HK$5 million and life imprisonment.
