A Tangail court has sentenced 15 people to life imprisonment for killing a farmer in Tangail’s Mirzapur upazila in 2006. Judge Wahiduzzaman Sardar of Tangail Special Judge’s Court gave the verdict Sunday afternoon. The court fined them Tk10,000 each, in default of which they will have to serve a further two years in jail. Thirty-five-year-old Tofazzal Hossain was murdered following a conflict over land properties on May 22, 2006. The deceased’s brother Golam Kibria filed a case with Mirzapur police station on the same day.
