Bird flu has been confirmed at a lake in East Cork but 15 dead swans were left there decomposing for days “while authorities debated responsibility for their removal". Four dead swans were collected at Loughaderra lake outside Castlemartyr on March 3, of which at least one is understood to have tested positive for bird flu.
