MANILA, Philippines — The country’s active COVID-19 cases are now at 130,268 as the Department of Health (DOH) reports 15,566 additional cases on Friday. The active cases make up 5.1 percent of the total 2,565,487 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines since the pandemic began. According to DOH, 21.3 percent of the 63,850 individuals who were tested were found positive on Wednesday for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID. Five laboratories, which contributed 1.7 percent of samples tested and 2.4 percent of positive individuals on average in the last 14 days, were not able to submit their data to the DOH’s repository system.
