Despite the call up to the school, his poor mother could not afford the financial requirements necessary for admission. A 14-year-old student from Nandi County on Sunday shook the internet after information came to light that he walked from Nandi to Kakamega in search for education. The student, identified as George Ingatwa, sat his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 2019 and scored 390 marks which earned him admission to Kakamega High school. Despite the call up to the school, his poor mother could not afford the financial requirements necessary for admission. The letter which was stamped by the headteacher of his Primary school was addressed to the principle of Kakamega Boys High School.
