KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 14 teachings that have been gazetted as deviant are still active in the country, with eight under monitoring by the authorities. Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said a total of 154 deviant teachings have been gazetted from 1950 to the present. Of these, 114 deviant teachings have been identified and are being closely monitored by the police Special Branch. "Deviant teachings pose a threat to national security, in addition to issues of corruption involving public servants. "A total of 14 deviant teachings have been detected as still active, while eight are under the authorities' observation.
