At least 14 people have died in a fire at a hotel in central Kolkata of the Indian state of West Bengal. The fire has been brought under control, NDTV reports citing Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Kumar Verma. He called for "stricter monitoring" of fire safety measures to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
