It wasn’t a good weekend for hockey. It started in the shadows when Hockey Canada’s interim chair, Andrea Skinner, threw in the towel. Then two figures within the hockey world — Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Ian Cole and Bakersfield Condors trainer Chad Drown — were embroiled in sex scandals. Tyler Seguin will be the highest-paid player this year in terms of salary and signing bonuses at $13 million. The Leafs, by the way, are at 55 years and counting since they won a Stanley Cup, the longest such streak in hockey.
