12 politicians risk being left out of elections

By NYABOGA KIAGEMore by this AuthorAt least 12 politicians have been omitted in the electoral agency list of aspirants, or listed in a party they do not belong, posing a risk in their being locked out of the August General Election. Those not listed are Baringo County Jubilee Party governor aspirant Stanley Kiptis, Chama Cha Mashinani Narok governor aspirant Patrick Ntutu and his Nakuru counterpart Peter Koros. Mr Kiptis is one of the “honest mistakes” the party said it might have made in submitting the list to the IEBC, leading to names of seven aspirants missing in the list. “Given the massive numbers of names of aspirants we submitted, we are together with the commission investigating where the mistakes may have originated from. We request affected aspirants to stay calm as we make corrections,” the Jubilee Party said in a statement.
