Share TweetBy Roy MabasaThe 12 Filipino crew members, who were arrested early this month in Iran for alleged fuel smuggling activities, are in “good spirits and are being treated well” while under detention, Philippine Ambassador to Tehran Wilfredo Santos said on Friday. “The 12 Filipino seafarers are in good spirits and are being treated well while under detention,” Santos was quoted as saying in a report sent to the Department of Foreign Affairs. Accompanied by other Embassy officials, Santos flew from Tehran to Hormozgan Province near the Persian Gulf to personally see the crew and ascertain their condition. At the same time, Santos assured they will continue to regularly monitor the status of the detained Filipinos.
