India on Thursday said it has not detected any incoming air passenger with novel coronavirus as the World Health Organization (WHO) stepped back from declaring its outbreak in China as a public health emergency of international concern. As on Thursday, India had screened over 12,828 passengers from 60 flights for coronavirus symptoms, and so far no one was found to be a threat. The WHO Emergency Committee, which held discussions in Geneva until late on Wednesday, said they want to study the situation further before declaring an international emergency. The novel coronavirus was first identified in Wuhan, China, on 31 December. The UN news also reported that on Wednesday, the Chinese city of Macau confirmed its first case of novel coronavirus, besides cases have also been reported in Thailand, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and the US.
