11th general polls: Voting begins at 3 suspended centres in Brahmanbaria


The 11th general election was held on December 30, 2018Re-balloting in three election centres of Brahmanbaria 2 constituency—where voting had been suspended during the 11th general election—has begun. The voting started at Jatrapur Government Primary School, Bahadurpur Government Primary School, and Sohagpur Dakkhin Government Primary School—at 8am on Wednesday—and will continue till 4pm, uninterrupted, reports UNB. The margin of votes between Abdus Sattar and Moyeenuddin is 10,159, which is less than the total votes of the three election centres. Abdus Sattar, using the sheaf of paddy symbol, bagged 82,723 votes; while Moyeen, using the kalar chhara (banana stalk) symbol pocketed 72,564 votes during the election held on December 30, 2018. Assistant Returning Officer of the election and Ashuganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mousumi Bain Hira said all preparations were complete for the re-vote.
