RIDE-HAILING10% of drivers failed background checkMassachusetts officials said Wednesday that more than 10 percent of drivers for ride-hailing companies Uber and Lyft have failed the state’s required background check. Payroll processor ADP said Wednesday that businesses added 263,000 jobs in March — up from 245,000 in February, which was revised lower. The job gains were led by big increases in construction, manufacturing, and professional and business services. The ADP survey covers only private businesses and often diverges from official figures. The Institute for Supply Management said Wednesday that its services index fell to 55.2 last month from 57.6 in February.
