As we grow our muscles, we also learn tactics (not gimmicks, but shortcuts) to make networking easier. I see many coaching clients, colleagues and friends create a strategy and reach out to potential contacts who are nonetheless stymied in their efforts. Here are 10 hurdles I have identified in my coaching practice that keep otherwise successful professionals from networking effectively. If you are anxious about networking, start by looking for small wins and introductions. I say start where you will get results.
