10,000 vacancies to be filled: BPSC head

The Balochistan government would appoint 10,000 persons in different positions in the province over the next six months and the process has already been started, said a government official. Like other sectors hit hard by the Coronavirus pandemic, the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) functioning was also disrupted as the office remained partially closed and couldn’t conduct tests, interviews, and appointments on time, said BPSC Chairman Abdul Salik Kakar. He explained the major reasons behind the delay is inviting 7,500 candidates who got through their tests and waiting for interviews. Usually, the process to appoint a person through BPSC takes a year if it has eight members and a chairman, but currently only three members along with the chairman are working. Even the chairman position was vacant for five months before Kakar’s appointment due to the coronavirus pandemic.
