According to locals, the water level started to rise on Monday morning and the condition is gradually worsening. BWDB Executive Engineer Rafiqul Alam Chowdhury of the Teesta Barrage Irrigation Project said the situation will be worse if the onrush of water from upstream hilly areas continues.
