Soldiers are conducting pursuit operations against communist rebels in CALABARZON. This comes following a clash between government forces and suspected New People’s Army (NPA) members in Sitio Bantigue in Mauban, Quezon on Monday morning. Suspected NPAs are said to have fled the area as reinforcements from government troops arrived. A few days ago, the military also clashed with suspected NPAs in San Antonio, Laguna. The communist rebels are also being identified for burning heavy equipment in Lopez, Quezon.
