BANGKOK: A tug (pushback tractor) driver was killed and a ground staff was injured after a plane collided with the tug at Don Mueang International Airport here today. In the incident that took place at around 8 am (local time), a Nok Air plane scheduled to depart to Nakhon Si Thammarat at 8.40 am (local time) collided with the tug which was towing the aircraft to a parking bay. A video from CCTV footage showed the aircraft tug stopped and it was believed that the tow bar broke loose. A replacement plane to Nakhon Si Thammarat departed from the airport at 9.50am. General Manager of Don Mueang International Airport Sumpun Kutranon said a committee will be set up to determine the cause of the accident.
