One person died in a fire at an apartment building in Saskatoon on Saturday night. Just after 7:00 p.m. CST, crews were called to 2621 Broadway Avenue for reports of a fire on the ground floor of a three storey apartment building. A Saskatoon fire department news release said crews encountered heavy smoke when they entered the suite. They located one dead person inside, and no information was provided about the victim. About half an hour after they arrived, crews were able to bring the fire under control.
