Two people were stabbed and a third was assaulted Monday on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, according to the Austin Police Department. One person died on the scene, the Austin-Travis County emergency medical workers tweeted. Several others sustained life-threatening injuries. The suspect, who has not been identified, was in custody by 2:15 p.m. local time, the university tweeted. The university canceled classes and events for the remainder of the day.
