1 Bangladeshi killed, 2 severely injured in a WWII bomb explosion in KL

A Bangladeshi expat was killed and two of his compatriots were maimed when a dormant World War II-era bomb exploded at a mass rapid transport construction site in Kuala Lumpur’s Bandar Malaysia area on Tuesday. Quoting police, Malaysian state news agency Bernama reported that the three Bangladeshis were working at the construction site at around 5pm local time when the explosion took place. Two of them lost their legs on the spot and the other sustained severe injuries in his arms and legs. The trio was rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment, where one of them succumbed to his injuries later in the night. “Investigations have determined that it was caused by an old bomb from World War II… and the bomb exploded suddenly during construction work,” said Kuala Lumpur Police chief Amar Singh.
