The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) seized the parcels of heroin weighing 1.6kg and worth Tk2 crore. Besides, two persons, Soibur Rahman, 32, and Nazma Akter, 28, were detained in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon in connection with the incident. Tipped off, RAB seized one parcel of heroin from them at Savar bus stand and the other one, which they had received before Eid-ul-Fitr, was recovered from their apartment in Ashulia, the RAB official said. The RAB claimed the duo had been smuggling heroin through such means for a long period of time.
