Like last year, the Lunar New Year or Tet Holiday saw a sharp increase in traffic accidents. Some provinces saw a high number of traffic accident fatalities including Dak Lak (14), Tien Giang and Ha Tinh (11), and Ba Ria-Vung Tau (10). Most of the accidents occurred on roads and were caused by drunk driving and breaking traffic rules, the committee said.
