Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital has administered the Covid-19 vaccine to 1,200 staff in the last one week. CEO Dr Wilson Aruasa says those vaccinated so far include front line health workers especially doctors and nurses. "As approved by Ministry of Health, the hospital has successfully commenced deployment of the Astra Zeneca/ University of Oxford Covid-19 vaccination of staff from Tuesday March 9, 2021," Aruasa said. Dr Aruasa said whereas the vaccine is not compulsory as per Ministry of Health guidelines, it's important for staff to get the jab. Despite the start of the vaccination Dr Aruasa urged all Kenyans to continue with other Covid-19 preventive measures like regular hand washing, wearing masks and social distancing.
